Value Village Finds

If you're reading this, chances are you love to thrift! Apart from the obvious reasons we do it (low-impact living, y'all), there's the whole treasure hunt factor. You just never know what you'll find! I mean, OK, this can become a dangerous game when you start buying things you don't really need.

I went yesterday for JEANS. I left with jeans + sweaters + jacket +...... well, you'll see. Turns out they were things I wanted to get anyway. Let's have a look at what I got.

So, I did find what I went for (jeans): Levi's, Zara, and a couple other quality brands. No holes or stains (yay!). I also found an Alexander Wang sweater (whaaa!?), a Design Lab sweater, a faux leather jacket still intact (mine recently bit the dust so this was a nice surprise find). And that mint-condition bag is from Alice + Olivia. I've steadily been sporting my black, bought-new Michael Kors for 6 years now and it still has LOTS of life, but I like that this A+O bag is roomier (for all my extra junk...*sigh*).

Let's rewind to when I first got to the store- the entrance was filled with holiday decorations. There were a couple nice faux Christmas trees + much more. I put a wreath in my cart, but ended up leaving it there as I was about to pay (because... budget). I did keep the star. AND I found a little Christmas village! Last year I was looking for one (used or new), but they were surprisingly kind of hard to find. So, I was very happy to come across this one yesterday.

I also found a milk glass-style vase (you could say I'm a collector). And I had been looking for a piggy bank for my daughter, but everything I found was either too cute, too small or poor quality. She loves SpongeBob (yup) so when I saw this, I had to get it. She was thrilled!

The only downside to my visit is that my intention was to only get a few pairs of jeans, so I didn't think to bring reusable bags (HOW DO I NOT HAVE A STASH IN MY CAR RN?!). When I was paying and the lady asked me if I wanted a bag, I thought, SH*T. I had the choice to pay for a plastic one or pay $1 for a reusable one. I went with the reusable option. Even with the best of intentions, we sometimes "mess up".

All in all, it was a good haul and I didn't buy anything I didn't need. It feels good to shop sustainably!

What treasures have you found while thrifting?
